William Boodell

Personal Bio

William Boodell was born in the United States, and grew up around the country as well as abroad. His second feature film as credited Editor is the low-budget and ultra-campy sensation, SHARKNADO, which took the world by storm, spawned five sequels and a billion dollar IP (Bloomberg). “Born of Sin” was his first serious short film as writer/director, won its Canon-sponsored competition by the Filmmakers Alliance, including a monetary prize, had a World Premiere at Fantasia, played festivals around the world and was honored by The American Cinematheque in Hollywood in their Local Shorts 2018 program. His next short film was “Sister Mercy,” which had its World Premiere at Fantasia in Montreal in 2019 and is being developed into a feature. Recently he has edited THE DARK AND THE WICKED (2020) and IN FIDELITY (2023). His directorial debut will be a suspense thriller about a police officer stalking two men on vacation.
