“SLIPSTREAM” / “NEW WEIRD” / OR SURREAL SCRIPTS WANTED
Seeking Scripts in the “Slipstream” Genre / Stories with Bent Reality or Logic
We are looking for completed, feature-length scripts in the “slipstream” and/or “new weird” genre, i.e., stories which bend reality or logic to create a strange yet familiar world. For example, think of material in the vein of “Run Lola Run” (1998), “The One I Love” (2014), or “Mulholland Drive” (2001).
“Slipstream” is a genre of fantastic or non-realistic fiction that crosses conventional genre boundaries between science fiction, fantasy, and literary fiction – a kind of writing which simply makes you feel very strange, typically employing some degree of the surreal, the not-entirely-real, or the markedly anti-real.
If you are unsure whether your script meets this definition, please look up these terms for further details before submitting.
Budget is yet to be determined. WGA and non-WGA writers may submit.
