PARENTS PURCHASING A FIRST PHONE FOR THEIR CHILD
CASTING PAID DOCUMENTARY PROJECT
We are searching for PARENTS PURCHASING A FIRST PHONE FOR THEIR CHILD (ages 7 – 14) who are in the greater Chicago area to be cast in a documentary film that follows your family’s life before and after the phone purchase.
PAY IS $2,500 per family, PLUS a FREE PHONE (your choice of iPhone or Android)
We are looking for Chicagoland area parents that are considering purchasing a phone for their child within the next year to participate in a unique documentary project exploring the pivotal moment when kids receive their first smartphones from their families (phone will be provided). Documentary will follow the kid and family before and the following month after phone purchase.
We are interested in families who represent a wide range of viewpoints about smartphones. Whether you are apprehensive about technology or a devoted digital enthusiast, we would love to hear from your family if there is a FIRST PHONE for your child coming into view.
NOTES AND REQUIREMENTS:
– Parental figures are planning to give their teenage child their first phone within the next year.
– We ask that everyone living in your household be open to participating in the film.
– Families must reside in the Chicagoland area.
– Families agree to use the First Phone app and phone provided by production during the filming which will document the child’s usage.
– Parents will review the footage prior to releasing it to the filmmakers.
– The production will work with a team of advisors to guide our processes and protocols.
We are looking for NON-ACTORS to participate in this project. If you have been in any other commercial, please do not apply.
FILMING SCHEDULE:
PRE PHONE LIFE: Filming the family for 1 week before the phone.
NEW PHONE LIFE | PHONE USAGE: Filming over the course of 1 month after receiving the phone.
– The production will collaborate with each family for a filming schedule during the month of production.
– Phone App will document all phone usage throughout the month.
– It’s okay if some teens have an older sibling that already have a phone
