ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

KRISSY WALL is

Executive Director of Scripted Programming and Development

at Freeform (formerly

ABC Family).

Previously, Krissy helped launch OWN: The Oprah Winfrey

Network as the Director of Development. After a couple of years as a

network exec she wanted to try her and at producing, so she left her position

to be a Supervising Producer on a documentary about the network’s namesake, Ms.

Winfrey.  During that experience, she fell in love with post

production and had a good run story producing several unscripted series for

OWN, Bravo, etc.

Wall is originally from Northern

California and went to UC Davis.  She’s been in Los Angeles for 12

years this September and has had an eclectic career and rather untraditional

path in entertainment.  She got her start working as both a script

reader for Samuel Goldwyn and as an intern for Jenno Topping’s

company Fresh Paint Productions, where they made movies with

Sony like Catch and Release (starring

Jennifer Garner) and Guess Who (starring Ashton

Kutcher).

Shortly after Guess Who wrapped, she

parlayed the job with Jenno into an opportunity working for Ashton, Karey

Burke, and Jason Goldberg at Katalyst Films.  She

worked her way up from office manager to Director of Development in the 4 years

she spent there.

In the freelancing years that

followed Krissy’s experience after working for Oprah, she did lots of

directing, field producing, and writing, working with digital outlets (like

Awesomeness and Soulpancake), as well as

brands like Ford, Target and Purell.  Some of her favorite work from

that time includes the Soulpancake series titled “Have a Little

Faith” starring Zach Anner, which she

Executive Produced and ran for two seasons, as well as Ford’s Taste

Buds Travel which she also EP’d and co-hosted.  Since then

she rejoined with one of her earliest mentors from Katalyst, Karey Burke, and

went on to consult for Freeform and help develop a slate of

original digital content for their app.  Currently, Krissy is a

full-time executive at Freeform back in the linear space as the Executive

Director of Scripted Programming and Development.
