ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
James Cox is the
Vice President of Development for Discovery Studios.
With more than 20 years of entertainment industry experience, Cox has
sold nearly four-dozen projects to television networks, including
Discovery, TLC, Travel
Channel, Investigation Discovery,
History Channel, and LMN (Lifetime Movie
Network).
Cox is the creative engine behind
such hits as Travel Channel’s “Insane Coaster
Wars,” “America Declassified,”
“World Access,” and “Bikinis
& Boardwalks,” Investigation Discovery’s
“Wives With Knives,” “50 Way To
Leave Your Lover,” and “Strange
Criminal,” as well as LMN’s
“Monstresses,” “Campus Nightmares,”
and “I Solved a Murder.”
Prior to his current post, Cox was
the Senior Vice President at GRB Entertainment. He
has also worked at Indigo Films as Vice President of
Development. Additonally, Cox has a strong production background and
worked as a Supervising Producer for E!. Cox also
served seven years as Director of Production for KAOS
Entertainment where he oversaw a broad spectrum of programming for
numerous cable networks. Today, Cox is excited to bring his
development acumen to Discovery Studios.
