HIRING SCREENWRITER – SAMPLE SCRIPTS WANTED

—————————————————–

Seeking Writers to Hire for a Marvin Gaye Biopic Project

—————————————————–

We are looking for completed, feature-length writing samples to assist in efforts to find a writer to hire for a pre-existing project.  We are developing a feature film about an inspirational period in the life of legendary soul singer Marvin Gaye.  Dumped by Motown, fleeing the IRS, battling child custody, and hamstrung by his own addictions and demons, Marvin went into self-imposed exile in a Belgium fishing village.  Upon meeting an unlikely “angel” and emerging from the depths, Marvin birthed the biggest hit of his career, Sexual Healing.

Ideally, we are looking for a Marvin Gaye aficionado with insights into redemption and the creative process.  Writers who submit must have a sample script that shows a comfortability writing non-fiction/historical scripts, character-driven pieces, OR biopics in general.

Please make a note in the personal message space specifying your familiarity with Marvin Gaye, why you would like to be considered for a project like this, and any previous experience you have writing biopics or non-fiction stories. If we like your sample pitch, we will reach out to request the full sample.  Incentivized compensation to be negotiated upfront.

Our budget is yet to be determined.  Both WGA and non-WGA writers may submit.
