ABOUT THE

INSTRUCTORS:

Rona Edwards, a

graduate of California Institute of the Arts, became Vice President of Creative

Affairs for Emmy-winning actor John Larroquette

(äóìNight Courtäó), Academy-Award winning producer

Michael Phillips (äóìThe Sting,äó äóìClose Encounters of The Third Kind,äó äóìTaxi

Driveräó), and Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated producer Fern Field (äóìMonk,äó

äóìHeartsoundsäó) before she was dragged kicking and screaming into the world of

independent producing.  As a producer, she co-produced and/or executive produced:

äóìOut of Syncäó (VH1), äóìThe Companionäó (USA/SciFi), äóìI Know What You Didäó (ABC),

äóìOne Special Victoryäó (NBC), äóìDer Mí_rder Meiner Mutteräó (Sat.1), äóìBlind Trust,äó

Killer Hairäó and “Hostile Makeover,” the latter three for

Lifetime.  Ms. Edwards set-up up numerous feature films and TV projects including

äóìMatchmakersäó at Warner Bros, äóìHard Rainäó at Ed Pressman Films, äóìTrackeräó with

Revelation, and äóìPuckäó with Phoenix Pictures, in addition to executive producing

and producing two award-winning documentaries, äóìSelling Sex In Heavenäó and

äóìUnforgettable.äó  Edwards was Assistant Professor at Chapman University

Singaporeäó»s Dodge College of Film & Media Arts for four years and continues

to teach for Chapman and other universities in the U.S.  She has written for

such publications as Produced By

magazine, Beachwood Voice, Los Feliz Ledger, and the Neoworld Review.  A proud member of the

Producers Guild of America, Edwards is also a member of the Academy of

Television Radio Arts & Sciences, International Documentary Association,

Film Independent and the University Film & Video Association.

Monika Skerbelis

has fifteen years of studio executive experience working in the story department

at Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox,

and running the story department at Universal Pictures.

 

She is the Film Programming

Director for The American Pavilion Emerging

Filmmaker Showcase at the Cannes Film Festival and was the Artistic &

Programming Director for the Big Bear Lake International Film Festival for

fourteen years.  She is a producer with

Edwards Skerbelis Entertainment (ESE) developing projects and was associate

producer on two movies (“Killer Hair” and “Hostile

Makeover“) for the Lifetime Movie Network. She is a member of the

Producers Guild of America.

TOGETHER:

Rona Edwards and

Monika Skerbelis are the authors of the critically acclaimed bestselling books,

I Liked It, Didn’t Love It: Screenplay Development from the

Inside Out” and “The Complete Filmmaker’s Guide to

Film Festivals: Your All Access Pass to Launching Your Film On the Festival

Circuit.”  They are the founders of

ESE FILM WORKSHOPS ONLINE, global online classes that teach the ins and outs of the film industry.  In

addition, they teach “Introduction to Feature Film Development” at

UCLA Extension, “Story Development Process” at Riverside City College

and have taught “Basic Screenwriting” and äóìVisual Storytellingäó on

campus at Chapman Universityäó»s Dodge College of Film & Media Arts.  They
