Personal Bio

Bulgarian-born filmmaker and actor Yves Garvey (a.k.a. Yavor Vesselinov), based in Los Angeles, works at the intersection of cinema, theatre, and documentary storytelling. His debut feature Adultery (HBO Eastern Europe), and shorts including The Bridge and In the Bright Light of Noon, have screened at festivals across Europe.

As both a filmmaker and performer, he is drawn to stories of emotional dislocation, memory, and intimacy — narratives shaped as much by what remains unspoken as by what is revealed. His work lingers in the space between people, where private histories collide with larger, unseen currents: social, cultural, and global. As an actor, he’s drawn to — and often selected for — dramatic, introspective characters and sophisticated villains.
