Personal Bio

Mimi Lam (she/her/hers) is an actor based in NYC. She is pursuing her MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College and is currently rehearsing for the role of Mary in Wives by Jaclyn Backhaus, directed by Cassidy Kepp, for the One Act Festival at Brooklyn College. This summer, she will be participating in the Vassar College Powerhouse Theater Training Program.
Mimi enjoys learning, developing her process, and collaborating with other likeminded individuals. Community is an important value to her and she strives to find it wherever she go.
In Los Angeles where she’s from, she worked as a Library Manager for the Sims Library of Poetry, where she provided poetry books for the underrepresented population of South Los Angeles.
During her undergrad years at Allegheny College, she studied Mathematics and Filmmaking, with a focus on documentary filmmaking. Even though she has moved on to pursue acting, she brings her eye in cinematography and detail-oriented mind in mathematics.
In her free time, Mimi writes poetry, rides her bike, and practices Aikido.
