Screenwriter, Producer, Creative Executive, and former Director of Childrens Programs for the CBS Television Network.
Michael Chase Walker was responsible for such animated films as Peter S. Beagle’s The Last Unicorn, J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Return of the King, Pinocchio’s Christmas, The Leprechaun’s Golden Rainbow, and Kenneth Grahame’s The Wind and the Willows. He was a staff series writer for He-Man, She-ra, Voltron, and Dino Riders.
As Director of Children’s Programs for CBS he developed and supervised the production of Pee Wee’s Playhouse, Galaxy High School, Wildfire, Teen Wolf, and over a hundred hours of animated and live-action television. His screenplays and film treatments for Cupid and Psyche, Sleepy Hollow, Circus Galacticus, and Rotten Island were optioned by major studios including Steven Speilberg’s Amblin and Universal Studios. He is the 2017 recipient of the prestigious George R.R. Martin Screenwriting prize for Science Fiction and Fantasy.
