Personal Bio

Marisa’s career in the entertainment industry has been fueled by a deep passion for film, television, and music. Starting her journey in radio ad sales and promotions at NBC, she quickly made her mark in television production with a focus on music-driven programs, notably contributing to the acclaimed series “Backstage Pass”. Her film and television development prowess are highlighted through collaborations with industry giants such as Irwin Yablans (“Halloween”), Martin Brest (“Meet Joe Black”) and on various projects including the iconic “Baywatch” series at Berk/Schwartz Productions. Marisa’s international acumen is demonstrated by her work on co-productions with Italy and Spain, along with her direction and writing of the award-winning documentary “Streets of Flamenco”, which was developed into a scripted feature currently in pre-production.

Marisa has also distinguished herself as a producer, notably contributing to celebrated projects like the 2023 Primetime Emmy-nominated documentary “My Transparent Life”. Her role as Executive Producer/Showrunner extends to scripted reality series such as “Dream Life: Los Angeles” and the celebrity interview show “Hollywood Disclosure,” which have aired on FYI/A&E, Hulu, Apple TV and Pluto TV.

In recent roles, Marisa has significantly impacted the landscape of original programming development and channel launching. As Chief Content Officer for Impact TV, she executive produced its original documentary series and played a central role in the branding and launch of Bigstar TV and its 15 niche-genre channels. Currently, at Ad Astra, she is leading the ambitious launch of the UFO, Paranormal, and Occult genre FAST linear channel, ECLIPSE, demonstrating her expertise in content creation, acquisitions, and programming.

Marisa has been a speaker at events such as MIPCOM and MIPTV and boasts a remarkable 13-time tenure as a judge for the MIPCOM Buyers’ Award for Japanese Drama. Additionally, she is an active member of the Television Academy.
