Laurel Ellis

Personal Bio

Laurel Ellis was born in Michigan, but grew up in Oklahoma.
She’s the middle child of Oliver Ellis (maintenance engineer)
and Judyann Hatfield (a homemaker). She’s of Swedish and
Scotch-Irish descent on both sides, and from the Hatfield Clan
of Hatfield-McCoy fame on her father’s side. She’s a single
mother of 3, cemetery restorer, and screenwriter with a
background in biological anthropology and forensics.

A lifelong fan of all things morbid, she’s a collector of
skulls, Alice Cooper, Edgar Allan Poe and true ghost stories.
Her first writing endeavor was a play about a haunted house she
wrote when she was ten.
