John Mayer

Personal Bio

John Mayer was brought into the film industry after his first novel was optioned by

a major studio. No stranger to the power of film before that, John had appeared in

many on-camera appearances in film and TV. Since then, John has written 10

screenplays, a stage play (Produced and performed) and has done assignment work

as a consultant on crime/violence and psychological elements for

studios/producers. His screenwriting has won recognition from the Nichols

Competition (The Paraclete-top 25 finisher), Page International Screenwriting

Competition (The Paraclete-4/5), The LA Film Awards (The System-Best Picture)

and the Festigious International Film Awards (The System-Best Drama) Creative

Screenwriting Unique Voices Screenplay Competition 2024 (Bedlam-Series Pilot

and The Paraclete-Feature). John hosted a radio show for one year and teaches

writing at a major international university. His screenwriting education has

included Stanford University and The University of Chicago. In his ‘day job’ John

(Dr. John Mayer) is an internationally acclaimed clinical psychologist specializing

in abnormal behaviors in young people. (Violence, crime, substance abuse, serial

killers, etc.) John’s 4th novel, Secession (with Koji Steven Sakai) was just

published by Central Park South Publishing (2023). Secession became an Amazon

#1 bestseller in September 2023.
