Janalyn Steele

Personal Bio

Janalyn Li Steele is a screenwriter who recently won first place in the Fresh Voices screenwriting competition. She also won first in the Cinequest screenwriting competition for her one-hour drama pilot, Gemini Baby. She sold a sci-fi rom com series to a Chinese production company. Janalyn was a 2017 writing Fellow for CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment), and is a mentee of Adele Lim (Crazy Rich Asians). Janalyn has written for the CBS Diversity Showcase. She’s also placed in the Austin Film Festival, WeScreenplay, Scriptapalooza, and Screencraft writing competitions. She’s written, directed and produced two short films. She’s currently a Writers’ Assistant on Good Trouble. In her free time, Janalyn enjoys learning facts about mermaids.
