Erik Venema

Personal Bio

Erik Venema is a former police officer and internationally recognized digital forensics expert whose career spans over four decades investigating major crimes, aviation accidents, corporate espionage, and high-profile cyber incidents. He has worked over 2,200 forensic cases worldwide and led the creation of Dell Technologies global forensic and incident response practice.

Erik has provided expert testimony in federal and state courts, worked closely with military and law enforcement agencies, and has appeared on both CBS News and Wolf Blitzer’s “Situation Room”.  His experience bridging human conflict, technology, and high-pressure decision-making uniquely informs his storytelling, allowing him to craft narratives that are both authentic and cinematic.

Erik’s screenplays have placed in the Nicholl Fellowship quarter and semi-final rounds, with one of them reaching the top 30 scripts, and he has been featured in an Oscar edition of Variety.  He has written an authorized adaptation of the Stephen Coonts best-selling novel FINAL FLIGHT (currently marketing), and his spec script for “The Sopranos” was read at the highest levels in the production company.  He has been represented by two agents and a manager, and is looking for new representation.  He is actively marketing six feature screenplays and has two more on the drawing board.
