Bernie Stern has been working in the industry since 2006. In the VFX world, he is credited on a slew of award winning projects, including HBO’s BOARDWALK EMPIRE (where he was honored for his contribution to the winning of a Primetime Emmy).
As a producer, in 2015, Stern produced Michael Curtis Johnson’s, HUNKY DORY, which premiered at SLAMDANCE 2016, taking home a Special Jury Prize, and then going on to win Best Narrative Feature at Atlanta FF, Best LGBT Film & Audience Awards at Nashville FF plus a handful of Best Actor awards at various other festivals around the country. In 2017, Stern and his company Unfound Content, produced two feature films. The first, CRYSTAL SWAN, shot in Minsk by SXSW Festival award winning writer / director Darya Zhuk recently won a Nika Award for Best Film of CIS and Baltic States; and BERNARD AND HUEY, directed by Dan Mirvish (BETWEEN US, OMAHA), starring David Koechner and Jim Rash, distributed by Freestyle Media. Most recently, Stern produced a zany sci-fi comedy, written and directed by Richard Elfman (FORBIDDEN ZONE) with an original score by Oscar Winner, Danny Elfman; starring Verne Troyer (in his final film), French Stewart, and George Wendt.
