Bio: Barry Jon Nadell

Photographer, Barry J. Nadell, a Los Angeles native, was born and raised in Hollywood — the world of high-fashion and celebrity.  Marilyn Monroe, Jane Russell, Elizabeth Taylor, Debbi Reynolds and Betty Grable were just a few of the “runway models” who “performed” for ‘Hand Knit Elegance’ by Diane Abramson – a world renowned clothing designer and Nadell’s friend and mother.  Growing up in the fashion industry under Diane’s tutelage, the young apprentice received first-hand knowledge about photography, fashion, celebrity and, most important, discipline.  

At an early age he picked up a camera, pretended he was and dreamt of becoming a famous photographer.  Later in his youth, Nadell thought it best to ‘broaden his horizons’ and discover additional interests.  Upon graduating from college, determined to make his “mark” in the world sans family assistance, Nadell became a very successful selling life insurance and embarked on the path of becoming an entrepreneur.  In 1994, he created a company to perform background screening for companies prior to their hiring.  Focusing on the legal issues surrounding background screening, his company InfoLink Screening Services grew dramatically and in 2006 after his divorce from his second wife, he sold the company.  Although she got half, Barry retired and began investing in Real Estate.  While growing his real estate portfolio, he began getting calls from law firms to act as an expert witness in cases where background screening was an issue.  Firms sought out Barry as he was responsible for actually re-writing California laws on the subject and testifying in the California Legislature to get his bills passed.  For fun, Nadell excelled in a unique rodeo sport as he traveled the country competing with his two horses.  But, his passion for photography remained steadfast and, after selling his successful national company in 2006, and growing his assets to provide a very comfortable income, he retired and photography took ‘center stage.   Nadell inevitably returned to his roots.  

He began shooting Glamour-style photos, created a company, Vantage Models, LLC., and went on to be recognized and published, internationally in such known publications as Maxim, FHM, Playboy and more.  His photography took him to exotic destinations from, Beverly Hills, Miami, Malibu, photographing horses on his ranch to shooting in Santorini, Greece.  And, it was in Santorini, where Nadell found his vision, and his niche — high fashion photography.  He is now living his wildest dream.

A world traveler, humanitarian, philanthropist and equestrian, Barry Nadell is divorced and resides on his ranch with his dogs, horses and barn cats in Los Angeles where he is living out his passion for photography.

Barry is currently involved making a movie about his mother’s life.  Coming from a battered wife who got divorced in the 30’s when women never got divorced, she became one of the most beloved women in Beverly Hills and Hollywood.  She became a famous dress designer and manufacturer turned celebrity party giver, turned philanthropist honored with the Spirit of Life award and recognized by US Presidents for hiring the handicapped and other successes.
