ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Stacey
Carr is the Manager of Programming and
Development for OWN:
Oprah Winfrey Network. Prior to her current
position, Carr gained valuable experience in the unscripted genre at
A. Smith & Company Productions, Cartoon
Network, Lost Marbles Productions, and various
freelance projects. Originally from Reno, Stacey made her way to Los
Angeles by way of Occidental College, where she graduated
with a Sociology degree in 2004. Upon graduation, Carr worked as a
teacher and for the I Have a Dream Foundation, an
education-focused nonprofit organization. In 2007, Carr made the jump
to pursue her long-time dream of working in the television business. With a
passion for diverse representation, she is committed to telling compelling and
meaningful stories through the media. Carr serves on the board of
HollywoodWEST, a networking group that focuses on building
community and providing resources for up-and-coming female entertainment
executives. When not working, Carr enjoys yoga, hiking, her
Toastmasters club, live music and musicals, investing in mentorship, and
dancing.
