Seeking Foreign-set Character Driven Drama Scripts

We are looking for completed, feature-length, character-driven drama scripts that are set in a foreign country, preferably Eastern Europe or Asia, and that deal with poverty or loss or a current social issue in that country, i.e.. scripts in the vein of “The Shoplifters” (Japan) or “Leviathan” (Russia).

We need scripts from writers who have a strong relationship with that country, so when pitching, please name the country in which your story is set and briefly describe your relationship with that country.  Please do not pitch stories set in the United States.

Budget will not exceed $1 million.  Only non-WGA writers should submit.
