ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Mimi von Schack is a comedian and writer in Los Angeles, California.  She has script doctored short films, video game scripts, and stand-up sets, written comedic commercials and online videos, even created a line of comedy birthday cards for a greetings company!  If you can add jokes to it, she’s done it.  She served as head writer on a comedic app in 2017, head writer for Australian late night host Aaron Mac’s YouTube in 2018, and wrote comedy segment pitches for the social team at The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale on Netflix, executive produced by Paul Feig.  She collaborates with businesses to add humor to their brand copy and advertising, and is passionate about helping others uncover their natural comedic voice through her teaching and her work.  Additionally, Mimi has performed her stand-up in New York, London, and Los Angeles.  While living in Scotland for university, she was one half of the comedy cabaret duo Mimi & Tim and hosted an award-winning radio chat show for four years.  Mimi completed the Groundlings comedy program in 2016 and has taught improv and sketch at Rogue Improv in South Pasadena.  Mimi’s sketches have been featured in the Edinburgh Fringe Fest, the LA Scripted Comedy Festival and the RAW Hollywood Showcase.  Her one-woman sketch show, Julianne: Live from LA! premiered at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in 2016 and won an Encore! Producers Award.  She still performs as Julianne at the legendary Cavern Club at Casita Del Campo and around town.  Over the past two years Mimi has produced and hosted the monthly show The Variety Hour in Los Angeles.
