CASTING AFRICAN AMERICAN / AFRICAN BOY (ages 6-12)

PRINCIPAL ROLE IN FEATURE FILM

We are CASTING ACTORS NATIONWIDE for young AFRICAN OR  AFRICAN-AMERICAN BOY (ages 6-12) for a principal role the feature film Nomad.

ROLE:

YOUNG BARAKA (Principal role)

Male / Ages 6-12 (looks age 6-10) / Black/African.

This role requires a mature actor who can look very young.  The physical appearance of the actor must specifically match the already-established actor.  Casting has confirmed there are no adult themes or intense scenes with underage talent.  The only intensity comes from the emotions as the characters struggle with loneliness, fear, uncertainty, and anxiety at having been thrust into the wilderness without survival tools or help.  There are no dangerous scenes and talent will not be in the wild alone.  Parents/guardians will be on set and a set teacher will be available.  For additional photo references, search the internet for images of “Masai kid”

RATE:  $630/day, guaranteed (or $2190/Week)

Actors need to look young (appearing 6 to 9 years old), but be mature and capable of emoting intensely.

The scenes require the actor to lay in dirt, emote, cry, be afraid, be alone, etc. This is done with no dialog since the characters don’t speak each others’ language.  These are intense roles and demand a strong dramatic performance.
