Personal Bio
Sejal Bovenizer is a Los Angeles-based television writer/producer who was born in the Garden State and raised a Georgia Peach. She majored in English (but will always say y’all), got her wings in the Big Apple (literally flying the friendly skies as a flight attendant before snagging a dream job at Marie Claire magazine), and finally landed (with head still in the sky) on the west coast to pursue a career in film/television.
Sejal has over 16 years of experience in all phases of production, from pre-production through field & post-production. Her work spans multiple genres of non-scripted programming including lifestyle, travel, competition, makeover, home improvement, dating, true crime, and documentary series for cable, network and streaming platforms including Showtime, Amazon Prime, Netflix, ABC, Bravo, E!, VH1, Fox, Syfy, Discovery, Lifetime, and HGTV.
Her recent projects include Showtime’s Active Shooter: America Under Fire, for which her episode on Columbine was nominated for an Emmy, Amazon Prime series Inside Jokes which follows stand-up comedians on their way to the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, Mucho Mucho Amor, a Netflix film about legendary astrologer Walter Mercado, and The Con, a primetime series on ABC narrated by Whoopi Goldberg. She was most recently a producer on Season 2 of Down to Earth with Zac Efron for Netflix.
Her 60-minute dramedy Sky Girls, about a feminist stewardess in the 1960’s who leads a double-life in order to become a commercial airline pilot, was optioned and considered for a major network.
Business is personal to Sejal. Her mission is to create & produce content that entertains and provokes thought by making a small dent in a big world, one television show/documentary/film/conversation at a time. With some laughs along the way.
She’s also a line cook, chauffeur, therapist, and cruise director in her household of one husband, one bernedoodle, and two kids under the age of 9.
