ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Diane Drake's screenwriting credits include the Paramount romantic comedy "What Women Want," starring Mel Gibson, and "Only You," directed by Norman Jewison, with Robert Downey, Jr. and Marisa Tomei.  Before turning to screenwriting full time, Diane was Vice President of Creative Affairs for Academy Award-winning director-producer Sydney Pollack's Mirage Productions.   She is a native of Los Angeles, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications & Visual Arts from the University of California at San Diego.

Simon Kinberg has written for Warner Brothers, Disney, Sony, and Dreamworks working with the likes of Steven Spielberg, Jonathan Mostow, Stephen Sommers, and McG.  His writing credits include the sci-fi hit "Jumper"(which he also produced), "Sherlock Holmes" (the highest grossing Christmas Day film of all time) which was directed by Guy Ritchie.  He cowrote "X-Men: The Last Stand," the most successful of the hero trilogy.  His final thesis project for film schools was the original script "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." The film was released in 2005, starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.  The film went on to become one of the hundred most successful films of all-time.

Kayla Alpert graduated with honors in English Literature from Harvard University.  She works in both features and television.  Kayla has sold screenplays to New Line Cinema, Warner Bros, Fox, Miramax and Disney.  In television, she's sold both half-hour and one-hour pilot scripts to ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, the WB and HBO.  Her television credits include Ally McBeal and LAX and she recently adapted the novel
"Confessions of a Shopaholic" for the big-screen.

Harry Elfont, with his partner Deborah Kaplan, co-wrote and co-directed "Can't Hardly Wait" and "Josie and the Pussycats."   Their recent writing credits include the romantic comedies "Leap Year" and "Made of Honor."  Harry attended NYU film school and grew up near Philadelphia.
